Help for Allergies and Asthma

Allergies? Asthma?

There are many things that a person with allergies and asthma you can do to find relief and sometimes healing from allergies and asthma.

Dr David Jockers did a podcast this month on that topic.

I recommend doing the elimination diet for gluten, dairy, eggs, corn, soy and peanuts.

Remove them 100% for 3 or more weeks, then systematically test these foods one at a time (for example eat a gluten wheat bread for breakfast and wheat pasta for lunch. Then don’t eat gluten for the rest of that day and the following two days. Observe any abnormal symptoms appearing over the three days. Anything you observe that is out of the “norm” for you, should be attributed to the gluten and it should be eliminated from the diet.)

People have reversed their asthma doing a real food diet, free from pasteurized A1 dairy and gluten.

Drink Pure water

You must be hydrated or tissues are damaged.

Drink half your body weight in ounces of water.

 Dr F Batmanghelidj writes:

“You can naturally prevent asthma and allergy by drinking more water. When you understand the physiology of the human body and the role of histamine in its water regulation and drought management, you realize that chronic dehydration in a vast majority of people is the primary cause of allergies and asthma. Increased water intake—on a forced, regular basis—should be adopted as a preventive measure as well as the treatment of choice.

In those who have had attacks of asthma or allergic reactions to different pollens foods, more strict attention to daily water intake should become a pre-emptive measure. These people will also have other indicators of dehydration they need to recognize and treat accordingly before a crisis attack of asthma endangers their lives and exposes them to possible, premature death. Don’t forget, the chemical pathways dealing with dehydration have no ‘brain’; they rush forward like a cascade. They are actually called ‘chemical cascades’. These dehydration-induced chemical cascades kill many thousands of asthmatics a year. They are easily ‘turned off’ by water and salt, two strong, natural antihistamines.”  The Essential Guide to Water and Salt

Salt

Real Salt or Celtic Sea Salt instead of pure white salt – we need salt!

“Salt used should be organic, unrefined Himalayan, Celtic or sea salt (like Redmonds Real Salt); half a teaspoon per 10 glasses of water per day. Those having trouble sleeping may put a small pinch of salt on their tongue and allow to melt after turning in. This is also a good idea after drinking two glasses of water upon rising. Sensors on the tongue detect salt intake and help suspend the body’s production of histamine.”

Fermented Beverages like Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar or Beyond Organic Terrain

  • 1 tbs in a glass of water 3 times a day before meals.

  • Healing the gut is an important step! These beverages provide many nutrients, probiotics, enzymes and organic acids.

Local, raw honey!

“Honey and humans share a long and storied history together, and it isn’t “just sugar.” Right now, though, I’ll discuss the question of raw honey and allergies.

There’s very little formal research on the subject. Last year, Finnish researchers found that eating preseasonal (taken before hay fever season commences) birch pollen honey reduced birch pollen allergy symptoms and resulted in less usage of antihistamines when compared to eating preseasonal regular honey. And then there’s this German study from 1956 that has no abstract, but the title is quite promising: “Resultant therapeutic method variations in pollen allergy with special consideration of oral desensitizing of pollen-allergic children with honey.”
